Te Ra Kirimete- Christmas Day

Today I had to make a slide show about Christmas sayings in Maori. I found this pretty easy because I just had to copy a white board, mote, and just do this blog.  Here are some examples:

Lets unwrap the presents – Kia hura tatou I nga taonga

What did you get – He aha tau i whowhi ai?

My favourite was “E oho! – Wake up!” because it was something I already knew.

Na Wai E

Today for maori I had to copy down the board and write about including the speaker and listeners, Excludes the listeners, Excludes the speaker and Neither the speaker nor listener. Here are two examples

Na wai nga kutai huaki? Who shelled the mussels?

naku nga kuiyai I huaki – I shelled the the mussels

Na wai ahau whakahoki ki rotorua? Who will take me back to rotorua

Na mere ahau I whakahoki ki rotorua – mere will take me bac to rotorua

He Pehea Te Kai

Last week I made slides about He pehea te kai It is about the taste, texture and looks BUT in Te reo. I had to add the English and Maori words on each slide with pictures of the food or taste. It was pretty simple because all I had to do was copy the words and add some random picture <3333

My favourite part was  adding the pictures because I just like finding pictures :3

My less favourite part was just copying everything on the board in my book THEN not even gonna use the book again cause I have to put it on slides so I probably well never use that damn book again so I don’t know why I need to copy it down (just my opinion)

Awhinatia Te Wero

Yesterday two people came to my class and taught us about pūtaiao/science. Their names were Marijn and Tewharau.

I learned about the importance of Tīkouka and Harakeke for our tupuna. They used it for shoes, raincoats, shin guards, food (sugar from Tīkouka) sails and ropes. I saw what Tīkouka and Harakeke look like under a microscope I discovered that it looked like a worm I also had to draw a picture of what we saw.

I also tested how strong muka is. It surprised me because it could hold  a 28kg bucket of water and weights.

I learnt to respect both plants by treating them with respect. By saying Karakia before cutting them.

Nga Puriro – Showing Possession

Hello there stranger, Today I had to learn about Nga Puriro – Showing Possession in Te Reo Maori.

I found this fun and I learnt that ‘O’ and ‘A’ have their own category. I had to make slides showing the things in the ‘O’ category and the ‘A’ category  after I had to do a paper sheet  it was easy for me

Here are the slides to make work LINK

My Matariki Star

The other week I made a Matariki star. I had to search on google to find the star I chose then I had to draw it and colour it in.

The star I chose was Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi because she is the wishing star.

I am very proud of what I have done. My favourite part was putting a bunch of glitter on my work <3

here is my amazing work ✧˖°.

My holidays.

Hello, today I will be telling you about my holidays.

on the holiday I went to the lights in town with my family. It was really cool. I enjoyed the cool patterns and colours of them. When I was there I saw 2 hot Asians men who looked about 17-18 not sure.

Most of my holidays were just me in bed and on call with my friends. We just played games like roblox. There was this one time I found a salt packet in my kitchen. So I thought of a stupid idea so I went back to my room with the salt packet and it was at 12-11 pm anyway I went on my phone and told my friends what I was planning to do because we were on call. I opened the small packet and put it on my hands and SNIFFED it up my nose. My friends were laughing so much and for me I was crying and laughing at the same time.

I was on call with my bestie Eva most of the holidays.

One time on the holidays I went to my friend Ataahuas birthday party. We went bowling with some other friends after we ate cake and lots of food. After that we went into the lazer strike part and it was a blast!. Later when we were finished, some lady that worked there gave us these cards and we got to play games in the time zone there. We couldn’t win prizes but it was fun.

Thank you for reading my blog 🙂
